Of the 202 adults we surveyed, 155 were self-proclaimed Baby Boomers. What once was the generation of promise is certainly feeling the pinch of the economic downturn.
- 31% of Baby Boomers responded positively to the statement, “Frankly, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to retire.”
- 17% of Boomers said “I plan to work until I drop because I have to.”
- 47% of Boomers express some level of discomfort with their employment status.
- 33% of Boomers stated their socioeconomic status as “Compromised” or “Poor” today vs. only 12% prior to the economic downturn – an almost three-fold increase .
